Digital life cycle and material development of lead-free piezoelectric and ferritic high-performance ceramics
Project runtime: 01.03.2025 - 28.02.2029
The overall objective of DILEMA-K is to:
(i) to create the necessary building blocks for the joint structuring, storage, linking and processing of all data generated along the life cycle of functional ceramic materials and components,
(ii) to develop tools for data-based material, technology, component and application development and
(iii) to apply, test and validate these in industrially relevant material development processes, component technologies and applications selected as examples.
Two exemplary material groups selected for this purpose are lead-free piezoceramic materials of the BNT-BT base system with their texturing technology and ferrite-based multilayer inductors. By its own admission, the ceramics industry in Germany has considerable deficits in the application of modern information technology methods, with the risk of slow and costly innovation processes. The proposed project aims to remedy this for the material class of economically important functional ceramic materials with data structures, data and digital tools aimed at increasing the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of functional ceramic material development.
